Ultimately, the script to merge files should be written in Perl or Python.

Took 'Python course'. It was very useful and helpful course!.

made first version of shell script to check new root files and merge them using hadd. but has not tested it yet in /cms/mon/data/dropbox/. This test should be done with Andreas

applied PYTHON course at the following web site.

  • Merged histograms with the new directory structure are now available. Andreas and I put the code in this afternoon. But it still need to be tagged. The latest 3 runs on /cms/mon/data/dropbox/ contain the new dir structure.

  • plan to work on a script which checks for new files in the dropbox and merges them together until the output reaches a certain size. We'll have to do the updates in a way that the DQM GUI file is always able to work on the newest data while the merging is happening simultaneously. We should agree on possible scenarios for this. Also, in order to avoid duplication of data we'll need to see how WBM can deal with merged files.

  • finished to implement directory structure in 'DQMServices/Core/src/DQMStore.cc'
  • kept old save method in 'DQMServices/Core/src/DQMStore.cc' but the directory structure might be different.

  • Comments from Andreas
    • should keep old save method in 'DQMServices/Core/src/DQMStore.cc'
    • implement directory structure in 'DQMServices/Core/src/DQMStore.cc'

     Run 000000001/YourSubsystemName/Run Summary/EventInfo/
     Run 000000001/YourSubsystemName/Run Summary/C1/C2
     Run 000000001/YourSubsystemName/Run Summary/C1/C3
     Run 000000001/YourSubsystemName/Run Summary/C1/Tests
(Only 'YourSubsystemName' can be input from cfg file.)
