Nothing special was observed on the DT chambers at cruzet4.

This is the piece of py code we use to set the best (not completely perfect for some sectors) calibration we have for cruzet4

You must also check that the hit resolution is properly setted (by default is 200 microns but with cosmics it should be enlarged to 500microns) but this should be also used for the previous code versions. Anyway just is case, the code needed for the 1DRectHit is:

  • look at event display
  • check good run
  • No track events are more than CRUZET3
  • look at eta, phi distribution
  • DT Hits distribution looks a bit strange

  • chi2 distr. is a bit different betwen NoDrift and LinearDrift
  • meaningful to compare chi2 between 1 leg option on and off


Plan for comparison between NoDrift and LinearDrift
  • see the following variables
    • delta eta
    • delta phi
    • delta |momentum| <-- it is meaningless with CRUZET3 data because of magentic field off
  • see event display for low DT hits and high DT hits (to understand two bumps in DT hits histogram)


Reading CRUZET3 data
  • copied /afs/cern.ch/user/s/suyong/public/sccosmic.tgz and extract in CMSSW_2_0_10/src
  • read file /castor/cern.ch/user/s/suyong/1CA5811F-4551-DD11-9126-000423D99F3E.root
  • Default reconstruction is by NoDrift.
  • Tried to find where I can replace NoDrift with LinearDrift by tracing it from 'Configuration/StandardSequences/data/Reconstruction.cff', which is included in my cfg file
