• read WorkBook? page to learn what fast sim & full sim are
  • Martijn showed me and Prof. Suyong the cfg file to analyze GREN data. we can run it by 'cmsRun' or 'iguana' for event display
  • Prof. Suyong said that 'iguana' need huge amount of graphic resource, so only Garahm or Junghwan's computer can run it. He also recommended to scan many events for both linear drift and no drift version by event display

Discussed cosmic data analysis with Martjin & Suyong
  • To do list Suyong think is
    • Comparison of Cosmic ray simulation and data
      # of hit in muon chamber, chi2, efficiency, Pull distribution (the distance between muon position and chamber)

Discussed physics analysis

  • Comparison of full sim & fast sim data (refer to SUSY agenda wiki page or indico)

Sent e-mail to Ugo asking no entry probelm

  • received answer from Ugo Gasparini about cosmic data analysis code

------ e-mail from Ugo Gasparini --------

Hello, and (Happy New Year!)
For the code, you should not refer to my specific home directory, but
rather to the official one you find committed in the
CMSSW project.
For istance, you should make in your working directory:

> scramv1 project CMSSW CMSW_1_7_0
> cd CMSSW_1_7_0/src
> cvs co RecoLocalMuon/DTSegment/test

there you have a working version of DTAnalyzer.cc
(you shoud compile it by issuing the command:
> scramv1 b

For the cfg, you should refer to the links addressed by the twiki page
mentioned in my slide nr. 5

anyway, if you follow the path " Offline Anaalysis of DT GREN Data" it
points to the file

Hope it helps...
Best regards

  • Ran the code successfully but no entry in the output historam
